Yupiit Piciryarait Museum (AVCP) - Yup'ik, Cup'ik and Dene collections

AVCP (the regional tribal nonprofit for 56 Y-K Delta tribes) has run the Yupiit Piciryarait Museum since 1994. It is inside the Yupiit Piciryarait Cultural Center on Chief Eddie Hoffman Highway in Bethel and shows Yup'ik, Cup'ik and Dene collections: prehistoric artifacts, clothing, toys, hunting and gathering tools, a full-scale sealskin hunting boat and sleds. Galleries are open to the public with access on request, so call 907-543-8541 or email Museum@avcp.org before you go. The museum also hosts workshops and outreach, and Elders share knowledge through its programs.
