Online/distance learning for Kipnuk & Kwigillingok students (post-typhoon)
Chief Paul Memorial School (Kipnuk) and Kwigillingok School did not reopen in August 2026 because of Typhoon Halong damage; LKSD will update families by November 1, 2026. Meanwhile: grades 9-12 can enroll in LKSD's District Online Learning Academy; K-8 online options are being set up; LKSD lends a laptop to any school-age student who needs one. To enroll call the Director of Special Education at 907-543-4870. Families who moved to another LKSD village can enroll at the local school, or at Ayaprun Elitnaurvik (Yup'ik immersion) in Bethel - note LKSD does not provide housing or transportation in Bethel. Free statewide correspondence programs (IDEA, Raven Homeschool) are also an option.
