RurAL CAP AmeriCorps Seniors (Senior Companion & Elder Mentor volunteers) — Bethel region

RurAL CAP's AmeriCorps Seniors program gives Alaskans 55 and older a way to volunteer: Elder Mentors serve in schools and Head Starts as tutors, mentors and culture bearers, and Senior Companions visit home-bound elders to provide companionship, rides and respite. RurAL CAP was hiring a Bethel-based AmeriCorps Seniors Volunteer Coordinator in 2026 to recruit and place volunteers in the Y-K region. To volunteer, apply through RurAL CAP (ruralcap.org) or ask at the local senior center or Head Start whether an Elder Mentor placement is set up. RurAL CAP central office (Anchorage): 907-279-2511, toll-free in Alaska 800-478-7227.
