Inter-Island Ferry Authority (IFA) – Ketchikan to Hollis (Prince of Wales)
IFA runs a daily passenger and vehicle ferry between Ketchikan and Hollis on Prince of Wales Island, about 3 hours each way: leaves Hollis 8:00 am, leaves Ketchikan 3:30 pm. Passengers must be ticketed and in the boarding tunnel one hour before departure (2:30 pm in Ketchikan); vehicles must be staged one hour before. Fares Ketchikan to Hollis: adult $56.60, senior 65+ $30.66, child 2-11 $23.59, under 2 free, vehicles from $55.19 (the Hollis-Ketchikan leg is listed from $60). The Ketchikan ticket counter shares the state ferry terminal lobby at 3501 Tongass Avenue and is open 9 am-3:30 pm every day. Fish/game boxes are free Ketchikan to Hollis and $20 each Hollis to Ketchikan; baggage allowance 100 lb; no alcohol or marijuana on board; there is a galley. On busy days unclaimed space is released after check-in cutoff. IFA also hires crew and terminal staff.
