KIC Tribal Enrollment - become a member / tribal ID
To enroll in Ketchikan Indian Community you must show blood degree or lineal descent from a member on KIC's Base Roll (the 1939 BIA census) or on the current roll - for example a parent, grandparent or great-grandparent. You provide the documents, such as state-issued birth or death certificates. An application sent by mail must be the complete, notarized original (KIC has notaries during office hours). KIC does not allow dual enrollment: if you are enrolled in another tribe you must show you relinquished it. The Enrollment Office issues Tribal ID cards and Enrollment Status Forms (KIC cannot issue CIBs). You do not need to be enrolled to be seen at the Tribal Health Clinic, but some KIC programs require enrollment. Call KIC at 907-228-4900 (2960 Tongass Avenue).
